• The Learning Agreement is a scheme aimed at reducing the number of 16 – 17 year olds in employment without accredited training. In partnership with Connexions, the scheme seeks to target employees working in small businesses and larger companies whose in-house training is not nationally accredited. These employees are more likely to drop out of work and find it difficult to re-engage in education, employment or training.
Learning Agreements offer local employers the chance to:
    • Receive free training
    • receive £250 (when the learner completes their training)
    • develop a workforce that is positive about training
    • improve productivity and skills
For learners who have been referred through Connexions, Bicton College can offer training with the specific aim of enabling a qualification to be achieved.

Eligible learners under this scheme need to be:
    • Aged 16 or 17 at the start of the training
    • Not undertaking any other form of accredited training
    • Be in paid employment for a minimum of 16 hours per week
  • Learning Arrangements
