The Learning Agreement is a scheme aimed at reducing the number of 16 – 17 year olds in employment without accredited training. In partnership with Connexions, the scheme seeks to target employees working in small businesses and larger companies whose in-house training is not nationally accredited. These employees are more likely to drop out of work and find it difficult to re-engage in education, employment or training.Learning Agreements offer local employers the chance to:
Receive free training
receive £250 (when the learner completes their training)
develop a workforce that is positive about training
improve productivity and skills
For learners who have been referred through Connexions, Bicton College can offer training with the specific aim of enabling a qualification to be achieved.
Eligible learners under this scheme need to be:
Aged 16 or 17 at the start of the training
Not undertaking any other form of accredited training
Be in paid employment for a minimum of 16 hours per week
