The Level 4/5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is for in-service teachers, and is aimed at those who are deemed to be in a Full teacher role (full or part-time) or would like or require a full Level 5 qualification allowing them to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. This qualification is suitable for those who are seeking career progression within their area of work, and have access to a minimum 100 teaching practice hours. This may be teaching in pre-service or in-service, full-time or part-time. The teaching may take place on a one-to-one and/or group basis for a variety of learners, across a range of levels and subjects.
This course will qualify you to work in a full teaching role in the Lifelong Learning sector. The diploma will enable you to apply for Qualified Teacher Status necessary for working with learners aged 14+.
It is a two year, part-time course, running one evening per week with additional self study.
Assessment is via a portfolio of evidence, assignments, presentations, teaching observations and reflective practice. Candidates need to complete 100 hours of teaching practice in order to qualify.
