Interested in sport as a career? You could study Sport Performance and Excellence at Bicton College and gain a qualification equivalent to 3 A-levels in a subject you enjoy. If you are looking to become a Coach, PE Teacher or Trainer, this course can give you university access or a good start in your career.
The sport and active leisure industry is diverse and covers aspects like coaching, fitness testing, facility management, teaching and individual business opportunities. This course will help you to succeed in your future sports based career, whilst the modules are designed to allow flexibility so you can personalise your choices to your specific career aspirations.

It is essential that your Initial Assessment results show that you are working towards Level 2. You will also need to have achieved one of the following:
• 4GCSEs at grades A C, including English, Maths and Science
•
Environmental and Land-Based Studies Higher Diploma (Grades A C)
•
GNVQ Intermediate
•
NVQ Level 2 BTEC
•
First Diploma City and Guilds National Certificate or equivalent
This programme is designed to be both physically and mentally stimulating and offers the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications in a variety of areas.
Learning is undertaken through a combination of lectures, discussions, visits, skills instruction and work-based learning.
Practical sessions will use the excellent facilities at Bicton College and the variety of adventure locations available within the South West and further afield.

You can use this qualifcation to progress to university (it is equivalent to 3 A-levels) or enter the sports related
