    Programme Aims

    The course enables young people to gain experience in the industry, whilst gaining further qualifications to improve floristry skills and knowledge. This will allow you to work towards management within a floristry shop or other associated businesses.


    Entry Requirements

    You will need to have achieved the following:

    •  Initial Assessment results should show that you are working towards Level 2
    •  Relevant work experience and knowledge of your chosen industry
    •  A suitable work placement - we can help to find you one

     

    In addition, it would be helpful if you have the following:

    •   GCSEs (Grades A–C) or equivalent
    •   A good reference



    Course Structure

    This NVQ Level 3 course requires attendance on a day release basis during term time.

    Assessment

    Assessment will be carried out predominately in the workplace. It will consist of the observation of practical skills, checking written work and oral questioning.


    Progression

    Progression may take the form of the new Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry course. Alternatively, successful learners might work within the industry as a qualified florist, either in their own or an already established floristry business.
