    Programme Aims

    The course is structured to build and enhance aspects achieved on Level 2 courses and also to develop new areas of design, structures and techniques. Our aim is for you to feel confident to be able to complete a wide range of individual floristry requests typically required by customers of a floristry shop and to develop your own style.


    Entry Requirements

    It is essential that your Initial Assessment results show that you are working towards Level 2. You should also have:

    • A good reference
    • GCSEs or equivalent
    • A suitable work placement


    Course Structure

    The course will consist of tutor demonstrations and practical sessions, with typical group sizes of 10-12.

    What you will study

    This course will open your eyes to floral inspiration from a wide range of sources, from international styles to period study. This course will also give you the opportunity to:
    • Become more daring, innovative and experimental
    • Explore additional business opportunities within floristry
    • Increase your product knowledge
    • Practice and perfect workmanship
    • Start to create your own design style and identity
    • Trial and utilise the latest techniques and skills

    Work experience is required during the course (options can be discussed at interview).


    Assessment

    Each unit has an assignment (written and practical) and at the end of the course there is a short written test.

    Progression

    Successful learners may progress to the NPTC Level 4 Higher Diploma in Floristry. Career opportunities include working within a floristry business, or floristry outlet, e.g. a department within a garden centre or supermarket.
