    Programme Aims

    This is a broad-based programme designed for learners wishing to experience a wide range of subjects within the agricultural industry. It will provide you with practical experience and an alternative to GCSE entry onto the Extended Diploma.


    Entry Requirements

    It is essential that your Initial Assessment results show that you are working towards Level 1. You wil also need to have achieved one of the following:

    •   4 GCSEs at grades A-D, including English, Maths and Science
    •   Environmental Land-Based Studies Foundation Diploma (Grade D)
    •   NVQ Level 1 or equivalent


    Course Structure

    Students on this course will learn through practical instruction, projects, individual and group work, lectures, portfolio building and work-based learning.

    Assessment

    Assessment is made on a broad range of evidence including: assignments investigating specific topics; case studies; observation of practical skills; oral tests and short tests.


    Progression

    Successful learners may progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture or the Apprenticeship in Agriculture.
