• Course Level:Level 3

    Course Duration:2 Years (Part Time - 1 day per week)


    The Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma allows you to study certain units of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horticulture on a part-time basis. The programme uses a combination of practical and theory work to develop your landscape and design skills and give you the basis for a range of careers in amenity horticulture, landscape construction and garden design.

     

    What You Will Study


    Year One

    • Ornamental plant identification and selection
    • Preparing landscape and garden design briefs
    • Principles and practices of garden design

    Year 2

    • Construction of paths and structures
    • Plant science and soil science
    • Site surveying and levelling

    Assessment

    Progress is monitored by a variety of assessment methods including debates, open/closed book tests, practical activities, presentations, project work, simulated work-based learning, work-based learning reports and written assignments.

     

    Successful learners will be graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
