• Course Level:Level 3

    Course Duration:2 Years

    Programme Aims

This is a programme which offers tremendous variety over the two years. Given Bicton College’s location, learners are ideally situated to work in rich and varied countryside, alongside a range of land-based organisations. Even though the programme has a strong practical element throughout, it is challenging academically. Assignments are commonly based on ‘real world’ situations, fieldwork and observation. Learners will develop a detailed knowledge of British wildlife and learn how to manage species-rich habitats for the benefit of wildlife and people. Candidates must, therefore, possess an enthusiasm for the natural world and for sharing their interest with the public.

Emphasis is placed on developing skills which will lead to employment opportunities in practical habitat management or in commercial contracting.
