"I knew I’d be coming to Bicton College before I got to the top of the drive - I just fell in love with the place and its atmosphere!" Group Discussion Classroom Teaching Practical Teaching Methods
  • UCAS Institution Code:P60

    UCAS Programme Code:N/A

    Duration:4 Terms, PT

With a PGCE or Certificate in Education you could…

    …teach!
…however, a career in education does not just confine you to a classroom. If you preferred, there are also many other teaching opportunities in industries such as the police force, the armed forces, the prison service, private schools and business schools, libraries and language schools…

These two teacher training courses are delivered together. However, whilst the Certificate in Education course is for trainee teachers without a degree, the PGCE course is for students who already possess a degree qualification, and who are therefore assessed at a higher level.

    Duration
Students undertake six modules for an in-depth exploration of the theories and practices of learning and teaching. All modules are delivered in the beautiful surroundings of Bicton College under the direction of, and in collaboration with, the University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Education. This course can be funded under teacher training initiatives subject to meeting criteria.
