Higher Education

Access to higher education is made even easier at Bicton College. With competitive tuition fees and a bursary of £800 per student you will only pay £1, 285 per annum for a full-time programme or £186 per module.

It’s not too late to apply for the following Foundation Degree programmes in September through Clearing 2009:

·          Animal Science

·          Environmental Education

·          Equine Science

·          Horticulture

·          Outdoor Leisure Management

What is Clearing?

Clearing is your last opportunity to apply for a Foundation Degree Programme commencing September 2009. At this stage, rather than applying through UCAS you should apply to Bicton College direct.

We will be able to offer you a place to study based on your current grades, qualifications and life skills but you must not have accepted an offer from any other college/university.

Main Clearing

Level 3 results will be announced by colleges and 6th forms on Thursday 20th August. The main Clearing process is electronic and will seek out alternative colleges/universities for you to attend if you haven’t achieved the results for your first choice.

UCAS have also offered a 5 days cooling off period this year which allows you the opportunity to shop around while still keeping your original offer. You may be unsure about the programme you have chosen or the location. The new UCAS adjustment period allows you the chance to change your mind – so there is still an opportunity, even though you have a place and have received the grades that you wanted, to come to Bicton College.

Still unsure and want to talk to somebody in person?

Please call Clare on 01395 562408 or email enquiries@bicton.ac.uk

Clare will send you an application pack known as RPA (Record of Prior Acceptance Form) and can also put you in touch with a tutor who specialises on the course that you are interested in.

If you have NOT been in the UCAS system this year (from September 2008 – June 2009) then Clare will send you an application pack known as RPA (Record of Prior Acceptance Form) and can also put you in touch with a tutor who specialises on the course that you are interested in. Alternatively print off the relevant RPA form below and post to Admissions.

If you HAVE applied through UCAS this year (between September 2008 – June 2008) you will be given a clearing number from UCAS, please call Clare with this number.

Please Note: If you have been through UCAS this year you are not eligible to complete a Record of Prior Acceptance form as you will have been given issued a clearing number. If you are unsure about this please call Clare on 01395 562408.

Confirmation of your place

If you have applied directly to Bicton College we will send you a letter confirming your provisional place on the course, and in order to secure your place on the programme you will need to complete and return the acceptance form.

We will then look forward to meeting you, and welcoming you to the College and the beginning of your course!
