It’s not too late to apply for the following Foundation Degree programmes in September through Clearing 2010:
· Environmental Education
· Agriculture
What is Clearing?
Clearing runs from the middle of July and is your last opportunity to apply for a Foundation Degree Programme commencing September 2010. At this stage, you should make direct contact with Clare Crick in admissions to check availability on the course. If there is a place available, you will then apply electronically via UCAS.
We will be able to offer you a place to study based on your current grades, qualifications and life skills but you must not have accepted an offer from any other college/university.
Main Clearing
Level 3 results will be announced by colleges and 6th forms on Thursday 19th August 2010. The main Clearing process is electronic and will seek out alternative colleges/universities for you to attend if you haven’t achieved the results for your first choice.
You may be unsure about the programme you have chosen or the location, or you may achieve better results than required for the firm conditional offer you have accepted and which has now been confirmed. If so, you have up to five days in August to look for an alternative course that has places available, whilst still holding your original choice. This is known as adjustment. This adjustment period allows you the chance to change your mind – so there is still an opportunity, even though you have a place and have received the grades that you wanted, to come to Bicton College.
Still unsure and want to talk to somebody in person?
Please call Clare on 01395 562408 or email enquiries@bicton.ac.uk. Clare can book you an appointment at our forthcoming HE Drop-In Day to be held on Friday 20th August 2010.
Confirmation of your place
If you have applied directly to Bicton College we will send you a letter confirming your provisional place on the course, and in order to secure your place on the programme you will need to complete and return the acceptance form.
We will then look forward to meeting you, and welcoming you to the College and the beginning of your course!
