    Supported Learning

Our Supported Learning programmes are administered through our Routes scheme.  On our Routes courses, students learn how to look after small animals (eg. pet mammals, reptiles, birds and fish), work with farm animals (such as cows, sheep, hens and horses) and drive tractors within the safety of the College’s tractor park.  Students undertake a range of gardening activities and will also learn about the countryside and how to care for it.  Most of the teaching will be through these activities although students will also be working on reading, numeracy and computing skills.  There are also opportunities for students to learn art and crafts and to develop team work skills using the College’s sports and recreational facilities.

"I would definitely recommend Bicton College to other students.  My experience here has been amazing.  The best part is probably meeting friends as the College is fairly small and you get to know people quickly.  The staff are also very helpful and friendly, particularly the Welfare Team.  Bicton College has the most amazing campus and I feel really at home here."

There are no academic entry requirements but you should enjoy practical, hands-on work and enjoy working outdoors. Entry on to the programme will be based on an interview and satisfactory references.
