This practical course leads to the British Wool Marketing Board Blue Seal shearing award and is suited to those new to the skills and techniques involved in this age-old craft.

  • Setting hand piece
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Sharpening combs and cutters
  • Handling and positioning of sheep
  • Shearing techniques
  • Common shearing faults
  • Rolling fleece and packing wool.

Entry Requirements:   
Knowledge of working with sheep, and enthusiasm
