AMTRA Saddlers Course equip persons to authorise the sale and supply of horse, cat and dog PML, anthelmintics, and include the study of the appropriate aspects in respect of cats and dogs, as well as horses.
Course includes:
An outline of the Law of Medicines, its background and purpose, including the concept of marketing authorisations and classification of animal medicines. In particular the AMTRA Code of Good Practice for the sale and supply of Animal Medicines and the Statutory Instrument itself: The Medicines (Exemptions for Merchants in Veterinary Drugs) Order 1998 is studied.
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal qualifications required before enrolling on an AMTRA Saddlers’ programme of study. Although each recognised college has its own detailed syllabus, these all follow the AMTRA core model.
Assessment:
Assessment is carried out through a written examination and oral questioning by an AMTRA examiner.
