What you will do:

• Explore available resources to develop basic craft skills
• Explore and develop ideas creatively
• Create, present and review final craft items
• Study the factors which cause wool to felt
• Select and prepare a variety of wools appropriately
• Blend (colour mix) fibres into palette of primary, secondary and tertiary shades
• Produce 3 samples to show different surface effects using undyed fibres
• Produce 3 samples to show different surface effect using coloured fibres
• Produce samples of inlay and mosaic techniques
• Produce samples with the addition of other fibres and yarns as surface embellishment
• Be introduced to using an embellisher
• Use stitches to embellish surface of 3 hand made felt samples
• Make a resist template and use it to produce an item of three dimensional felt – a simple bag, hat or similar item ie jewellery
• (Use of other fabrics ie own embroidered – use of own sewing machine is encouraged if you wish to do so)
• You will produce a portfolio of samples and
• Analyse the work of other fibre artists
