NPTC CS39 Operate a Chain Saw from a Rope and Harness

This course runs over 3 days - 2 days training followed by assessment on Day 3. You will need to be fully competent in the use of a chain saw and have a full set of personal protective clothing complying with current Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.  

Course content:

  • The use of a chain saw within the tree canopy
  • Communications
  • Organisation of work
  • Anchor points
  • Transfer of tools and equipment
  • Safe use of chain saw
  • Techniques for the removal of branches
  • Storage of equipment and regulations.  

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must be aged sixteen or older and hold the following NPTC Certificates of Competence:

  • Chain Saw Maintenance - CS30
  • Small Tree Felling - CS31
  • Climb Tree and Perform Aerial Rescue - CS38

Venue: Bicton College or a location to suit your business, subject to minimum group size of 4 people
