Preparing To Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
This course is suitable for those who may be interested in teaching in the Post-16, Lifelong Learning and Skills Sector. It is at Level 3 / 4 course.
Course Description
PTLLs is the 'threshold' qualification for teachers in the post compulsory (FE) sector. This is a part-time programme of 30-48 guided learning hours running weekly for 12 sessions or the 1 week intense course running from 9th-13th July.
It is suitable for those who work or want to work as teachers in the lifelong learning sector; technicians and support staff in further and adult education and training.
You will cover:
Responsibilities and boundaries of your role in supporting learning and in relation to teaching; appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area; session planning skills; how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners and the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching and learning methods used will include classroom based group sessions, small group work, discussions, and observations of micro-teaching.
