The Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector is for anyone working in an associate teacher role without a recognised qualification, or planning to become an associate teacher in further, adult or continuing education.
Course details
Become officially qualified as an associate teacher in continuing education - someone who works from pre-designed curricula to teach a particular a subject or learner type. Acquiring this Certificate qualifies you for Associate Teacher, Learning & Skills (ATLS) status, and is your licence to teach.
You will cover:
the theory and practice of teaching, principles of learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation, confidence, communication and interpersonal skills, your professional role and responsibilities
Teaching and Assessment
you learn with your training provider - maybe through practical sessions, group discussions or assignments. You will demonstrate what you've learned through both practical skills assessments and assignments that cover the theory of teaching. These assessments may include a portfolio of evidence, practical skills demonstrations, and written examinations. You will also complete 30 practice teaching hours.
