Bicton College Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society "Where to train" establishment and is able to train up to Instructor level status. Our excellent facilities include an indoor arena, outdoor ménage, cross-country course, beautiful countryside for hacking and stables 39 experienced horses.  A team of highly qualified, motivated and experienced staff train over 100 students each year for BHS examinations and offer a range of acadeic full and part time equine studies.

How to book your course

Once you have selected the course that you like to attend please proceed to the checkout where you can complete all sections of the course booking form. It would be appreciated if we have your completed booking and payment as soon as possible prior to the start date of the course to avoid disappointment.

Alternatively, download our part-time and short course booking form and email it along with your payment details to Customer Services or post your application along with your cheque or debit/credit card details to Customer Services, Bicton College, East Budleigh, Budleigh Salterton, Devon, EX9 7BY.

Late Bookings
(Less than two weeks before the start date of the course)

Our courses are extremely popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment. We may be able to accept a late course booking provided there are spaces available. Please telephone Customer Services to check on 01395 562300. If available, you may secure your place by providing your name, address and credit/debit card details.

Group Bookings

If you wish to place a multiple person booking and would like to be invoiced please contact Customer Services on 01395 562300 or e-mail Customer Services. Alternatively, you can book each application seperately online.


Course Availability
Every attempt has been made to ensure that the information contained within the prospectus is correct at the time of publication. The College reserves the right to cancel courses without prior notice if there are insufficient bookings or for other operational reasons. Where possible an alternative course will be offered.

Examinations
Where your course leads to a formal qualification, you will be asked to enter or register for the examination or assessment as discussed with your tutor at the appropriate time.

Business or Leisure?

We offer courses for business purposes B and courses for leisure L. Business courses are those designed to give you training to improve your work related skills – either work you are currently doing to enhance your career prospects, to enable you to develop work on a self employed basis or if you are looking for a career change. Many of our foundation degrees F are also available as a part time course, offering you the flexibility and convenience to combine your study with family or work commitments. 

 

Any courses suitable for businesses will display a B symbol, courses suitable for leisure will display L, and foundation degrees will display F.

There are over 100 part time courses to choose from. You can study at a number of locations across Devon. Many of our part time courses do not require formal qualifications, just motivation and enthusiasm.
Help with the costs

If you are in receipt of means tested benefits, or are a dependant of someone who is, you may be entitled to a reduced fee. Not all courses are entitled to a reduction so double-check in the column title RF (Reduced Fee). It may say N/A, meaning that a reduced fee is not applicable to this course, or there may be a figure in the box. This figure is the amount that you will pay when you enrol on the course. It includes compulsory costs, such as exam fees and a deposit. This deposit will be refunded on successful completion of the qualification. There may be additional costs for materials depending of the nature of your course. It may be possible to pay by instalments.
