Considering a career in floristry?
Want to take floristry more seriously? Then this may be the course for you. The course is suitable for all those looking for a change in career or as natural progression from basic floristry skills.
Programme Aims
This course is designed to provide a strong basis of practical skills and an understanding of the principles of floristry and retailing. At the end of this course you should be equipped with the knowledge, skills and techniques to be able to cope with the every day aspects of a florist shop, with work experience in this area required during the duration of the course.
Course Content:
This course aims to prepare you for all that you may face during the everyday life of a floristry shop.
Each unit has an assignment (practical and written work) to complete and at the end of the course, there is a multiple-choice test with questions from the five main units. An industry-recognised City & Guild’s certificate is issued on successful completion. Students achieving one or more units will receive a Certificate of Unit Credit listing the assessment components achieved.
Entry Requirements:
All we ask is an open mind, a thirst for knowledge and dedication to stick with the course.
Progression:
To further your skills and create designs with you own identity, we recommend the Level 3 Diploma in Floristy.
Venue:
Bicton College
Students will need to provide a work box and flowers, foliage and sundries each week costing around £12 - £20.
Guidance and advice will be given each week on utilising garden-produced material. We also have a florist shop at Bicton where students may purchase tools, flowers, foliage and sundries.
