    Attendance

Students will start at the beginning of year 10 and complete the course in the May of their year 11. Attendance will be 1 day per week following our academic year.

Students are asked to arrive at Bicton to start the session at 10.00am and leave at 2.30pm.

    Equipment

Students will be issued with a list of appropriative and safe clothing needed for the course they choose to do. If students do not bring this they will not be permitted to partake in the activity.

    Interviews

All prospective students are interviewed before accepting them onto the course. This is to ensure that this is the correct course for them both academically as there is a certain amount of portfolio work to do and also if it is the correct vocational area to follow. Full approval from the school is needed for the student to attend the course.

Students love it at Bicton College, but don't just take our word for it...

"Students love their one day a week at Bicton because they can choose to do something they like doing, such as working with animals or machinery. They meet new friends from other schools and feel as if they are in a completely different world from school where they are treated as adults. They all rave about Bicton and particularly like the canteen, as the food is great. At the end of their course they come away with an NVQ Level 1. Some enjoy their experience so much that they decide to go back to Bicton on a full-time course."
