"When I started at Bicton College I had struggled to be accomplished academically. Thanks to the College, I have now found that I am successful when undertaking assignments and organising both myself and others. I have had huge amounts of support from both the Learn Support staff and tutors who will go out of their way to help you. I have also made some good friends here who will stay with me throughout the rest of my life."

I came to Bicton College because it had a great reputation as an agricultural college, and I thought the course content sounded interesting and in-depth. During my time here I have learnt so much about various different farming practices, the staff are so talented and knowledgeable about their subject and the facilities are excellent. Once I have completed my course, I plan on remaining self-employed within the sector (ie. carrying out calving, lambing, fencing, etc.) until I reach the right opportunity to manage my own farm or estate.

I chose Bicton College because it offered a course which promised to lead me towards achieving my ambition, which is to work with and study animals in their natural habitat. Before starting this course I spent nine months in East Africa - which is where I gained an appreciation of natural habitats and wildlife - and the course offered a broad range of modules including conservation of wildlife and their habitat, which clearly linked in with what I was looking for. . Once I complete the course I will continue to gain valuable work experience in Africa, before finishing the final year of the degree at the University of Plymouth. I would recommend the course to anyone wishing to pursue a career with animals - the College is situated in idyllic surroundings, the staff are fantastic and facilities are also excellent.
