This is a gardening course designed to give you the opportunity to improve a range of gardening skills.
You have some gardening knowledge and would like to gain a level 2 qualification.
A keen interest in gardening and some equipment including steel toecap boots, work or walking trousers, gardening gloves and a Bicton College polo shirt.
The course follows the gardening year covering tasks in the glasshouse, fruit and vegetable growing and ornamental gardens including plant selection and maintenance.
To be assessed through practicals and short written tests. You must complete a range of assessments during the course. This may include: Ground preparation, mulching, watering, and planting out from a container, seed sowing in containers, seed sowing, propagation methods, border maintenance and lawn maintenance.
Being based at Bicton College, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Employment in horticulture or further study.
