The Arts

If you have a passion for wanting a career as a graphic designer perhaps in a busy creative agency or working for a high street retailer, this course will help set you in the right direction and teach you the things you need to know to progress in this exciting, varied and rewarding industry. You’ll learn a wide range of techniques, processes and software relating to graphic design and you will also receive a personal and professional development programme as part of the course to help you understand the wide variety of careers available. You’ll benefit from lots of guest lectures, workshops, educational visits, live projects and presentations.

you love to communicate ideas and concepts through traditional & digital media and you are aiming to progress to university and develop a career within the creative industry.

You’ll need:

four GCSEs at grade C or 5, including English language and mathematics.

You’ll learn:

to use a wide range of materials, techniques and processes relating to Graphic Design these will draw form traditional and non-traditional methods whilst you develop your idea for visual Communication. You will also learn digital skills with Adobe Creative Suite, working on Mac computers and achieve a professional standard of work. These skills will be taught through a specialist pathway alongside other core activities such as visual recording and contextual studies.

A relevant programme of personal & professional development is included in this programme of study, this will help you understand your career options and build up your portfolio for a Higher Education degree course and/or employment.

lots of variety, guest lectures and subject specialist teaching with access to specialist workshops, educational trips, live projects and presentation.

You’ll love:

to have your own dedicated and purpose built studio space with access to excellent workshops in 3D, ceramics, printmaking, fashion, textiles, Mac suite, animation and film.

University study and employment in the creative industry, there are up to 120 different careers and could include: painter, sculpture, illustrator, graphic designer, product designer, ceramicist, glass artist, textile designer, fashion designer, pattern cutter, fashion photographer, journalistic photographer, primary & secondary school teacher and many more.
