This qualification is designed for anyone with a working knowledge of marketing therefore experience of operational marketing is desirable. This course would also be suitable for you if you have accrued extensive experience in marketing practice but have no formal related qualifications.
The CIM course offers a blended learning approach combining taught sessions, workshops and online support. Sessions run every Tuesday 6pm – 8:30pm during the college term time from September through to the end of June. The study group consists of a small number of marketers working in a wide variety of Cornish organisations.
You will undertake three modules to gain the Professional Certificate which include:
Marketing – autumn term
This module focuses on understanding the role of marketing and the influences on customer behaviour. Concepts of research, innovation, planning and evaluation of the marketing mix are core to this unit. Assessment is in December following enrolment and is through means of a two-hour examination comprising 50 compulsory multiple choice questions.Digital Marketing
Integrated Communications – spring term
Internal and external communications are central to role of every marketer. This module explores the role of communication techniques and channels in order to promote brand understanding, customer acquisition and retention. Assessment is through a 12-page written report divided into carefully constructed work-based tasks in an organisation of the learner’s choice. This module is completed in the second term of study with assessment submission in March.
Digital Marketing – summer term
This module incorporates the fast-paced and constantly changing impact of technology on marketing and runs in the third term of the course. It focuses on digital tool kits and digital in action as well as making sense of the changing landscape in the marketing environment. Assessment completion is late June and involves the production of a digital portfolio through which learners can demonstrate skills in blogging, social media engagement and business presentation.
The Professional Certificate can be studied in its entirety or in a modular format, giving you the opportunity to study for one of three modules at a time at various points throughout the year.
Each module is £550 each but there is a 5% discount for paying for the whole course to include the three modules: £1,567.50
In addition to your course fees you pay CIM direct for your studying membership at £50 for the year and each module assessment costs £130.
