If you’re looking to enter the world of professional catering but don’t want to attend college on a full-time basis, an apprenticeship could be the right route to start your career. We have arranged a dedicated chef apprenticeship at the world famous Eden Project, where you will receive expert tuition in a real commercial environment. As an Eden Chef Apprentice, you will learn all the necessary key skills required in culinary specialisms including; artisan breads, fish dishes, poultry, patisserie, soups and sauces. You’ll be inspired by our series of masterclasses and gain additional tuition from our team at St Austell. You will also earn while you learn.
You’ll also be part of one of the best catering college’s in the UK with three Centre’s of Excellence and the only catering college to have two commercial restaurants both awarded AA college Rosettes, not to mention our very popular Academy Nathan Outlaw, where you have the opportunity to join his masterclasses and be taught from the two star Michelin chef himself. two GCSEs at grade E or 2 and a strong commitment to pursuing a career in food preparation and cookery. You will also need literacy and numeracy skills to Level 1 or above.
Culinary specialisms such as artisan bread and dough products, cooking fish from sustainable stock, use of poultry from ethically aware producers, cakes and pastries, soups and sauces and the role of food in a health conscious world.
