If you’re looking to build upon your existing level 2 cookery qualification but also want to enter the world of employment, our level 3 apprenticeship could be the answer. You’ll learn additional related practical skills necessary to progress in a kitchen, as well as other vital topics including food provenance, food safety, management and supervisory skills. You will also benefit from earning while learning.
You’ll also be part of one of the best catering college’s in the UK with three Centre’s of Excellence and the only catering college to have two commercial restaurants both awarded AA college Rosettes.

You want to further develop your practical skills in meat and fish preparation. You’ll look at cooking complex dishes to a high standard.
four GCSEs at grade D or 3, including English and mathematics, a related apprenticeship or a Level 2 qualification, although prior relevant experience will be considered.
A wide range of skills taught both at your place of work and in the training kitchen. You’ll study food provenance, nutrition, correct storage, food safety, management and supervisory skills.
To be assessed through assignments, projects and practical skill tests during your course. You’ll also work towards a Level 2 functional skills qualification in English and mathematics.
Studying at the South West’s best catering college and in using the skills you have learnt to work as a senior chef.
