A part-time course specifically designed for teaching assistants and other school staff who support teaching and learning.
You must enjoy working with children and young adults, be confident in the classroom environment and have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills.
You are a teaching assistant and supporting teaching and learning. It is also suitable for anyone currently working at least one day a week on a voluntary or employed basis in a primary, secondary or special school.
To be educated to GCSE level and have good communication skills. You should already be working/volunteering or about to start working as a teaching assistant or a member of the support staff in a school.
You will work towards nationally recognized qualifications and will attend a weekly class at one of our campuses.
Your taught lessons will cover key aspects of the role of supporting teaching and learning in schools including health and safety, child protection and professional development.
The support of a mentor and expert witnesses to enable you to meet the evidence requirements of the qualification.
Presenting a portfolio of evidence collected in the workplace.
Work in a school as a teaching assistant or similar role supporting teaching and learning. You can also progress to the Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
