You wish to pursue a career in the barbering industry.
Two GCSEs at grade C or 4, including English and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.
Excellent industry-level skills such as how to consult with a client, promote barbering products and how to achieve the latest looks with cutting techniques. This qualification has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; the creative art of cutting men's hair, the specialist work of cutting facial hair, how to provide effective shampooing and conditioning or styling services and how to offer a good consultation service for clients. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services.
To train in our purpose-built salons which are open to the public, and to have the opportunity to work on reception enhancing your work-based skills in customer service, product promotion and retail sales.
The industry focus of this course, working in a fast-paced and creative environment.
Employment or further studies with the Barbering Diploma Level 3. Past students have gone on to manage their own barber shops, travel on cruise liners and teach.
Traci French Team Lead - Hairdressing
Traci has over 25 years' experience working in the hair and beauty industry, working in Bristol and Truro as a stylist, senior stylist and salon manager. Traci now leads the hairdressing lecturing team at Cornwall College and also manages the commercial training salon, koko, at Cornwall College in Pool.
