You wish to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry, enjoy working within a salon environment and on a one to one basis with clients.
GCSE English and mathematics at grade D or 3, be employed within a salon environment and be aged 16 or over.
Excellent-level skills such as how to consult with a client, promote products and retail sales and how to achieve the latest looks with cut and colour techniques. During this apprenticeship you will work as a salon junior booking appointments and performing shampooing, conditioning, drying, styling and colouring of hair. You will also be involved in hair and skin testing and the principles of hair colour selection for clients.
To train in purpose-built salons which are open to the public. You will attend lectures at college one day per week and spend the remainder of the week in the workplace. You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do on everyday, whilst receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.

Employment as a Junior Stylist in a hotel or salon, or you may choose to progress onto further studies with the Hairdressing Apprenticeship Level 3 where you will cover the more advanced colour and cutting techniques.
