Throughout your studies you will learn by completing practical activities and assessments based on professional real-life scenarios in our Koko commercial training salons. You’ll get the chance to take part in competitions, fashion shows and get some masterclass insights from visiting professionals.
You want to train on the job to become a fully qualified nail technician. You must enjoy working in the beauty industry and on a one to one basis with clients. You will need good hand eye coordination to carry out your work, as well as good customer service skills as you will be working with clients all day.
GCSE English and mathematics at grade C or 4, or a Level 2 nail services qualification.
Excellent industry-level skills such as performing advanced nail art, artificial nail systems including gel and acrylic and maintaining and repairing nails.
To develop your skills in purpose-built salons which are open to the public. You will attend lectures at college one day a week while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace. You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from Cornwall College tutors.
The industry focus of this course, working in a fast-paced creative environment.
Tmployment including salons, spas, resorts, hotels or start your own business. You may have the opportunity to be involved in photographic nail shoots.
