You are serious about practicing professionally as a therapist in Swedish massage and it is a good grounding for other types of massage. Swedish massage is the most common and best known massage in the West. It is thought to reduce pain, joint stiffness and poor circulation and is the basis for other types of massage including sports massage.
GCSE English and mathematics at grade C or 4, plus the ability and motivation to self-study, as this is a fast track course.
The skills, knowledge and understanding required to perform professional Swedish massage treatments that are also a good grounding for other types of massage.
In addition to learning how to massage professionally, to learn health, safety and hygiene, basic anatomy and physiology, preparing the treatment area and consultation techniques.
The opportunity to practice and develop the five massage strokes; effleurage, kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction and vibration/shaking.
Perform professional Swedish massage treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the beauty therapy or complementary therapy industry. You may choose to compliment your skills with our Sports Massage qualification or other holistic therapy qualifications such as Aromatherapy or Reflexology.
