This level 2 diploma is ideal for healthcare workers who are looking to progress to a more senior position.
You are working in a healthcare setting e.g. G.P surgery, Healthcare Centre or hospital as a Healthcare Assistant. Your role will require your to have some responsibility and sometimes work without supervision.
There are no formal entry requirements but the candidate should be working as a Health Care Assistant.
You will need to attend an interview prior to acceptance on this course.
The diploma consists of separate units that have been allocated various credit values. To gain the diploma you will need to achieve a total of 50 credits.
You will complete eleven mandatory units that include:
- Health and Safety
- Duty of Care
- Record keeping
- Equality and inclusion
- Person centred care
- Infection control
You will then select from a range of optional units that are suitable to your job role.
Knowledge sessions will be provided at college for you to attend.
To be assessed in your work place.
Following the successful completion of this course, you could apply for nurse training or other specialist training.
You may choose to continue with further study on the Level 3 Clinical Healthcare Support or Level 3 Access to Nursing courses.
