You are looking for a course that will provide you a basis for progression into health or social care. If you are looking to work with children, adults and the elderly this course is for you. This course offers a route to level 3 in further education.
four GCSEs at grade D or 3, including English, mathematics and science, or an equivalent qualification.
Through a range of units on subjects such as cultural diversity, nutrition, health and safety, and lifespan development. You will be assessed throughout your course based on projects, assignments, case studies, practical exercises, test papers, reports and external assessments.
To be timetabled for taught sessions on three or four days per week. You will also attend a work placement of two to three separate block weeks during term time.
Your work placement experience. These placements provide a wealth of practical experience and will help with your future career decisions.
Further studies such as out Health & Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma level 3, or employment as a care assistant in a residential or nursing home, or other care environment.

Anne-Marie has worked in education for 17 years and has always been passionate about working with people, young and old, running events, coaching and mentoring and seeing people succeed. Before joining the College in 2007, she worked across various sectors in the care disciplines including; nanny, care worker, residential care specialist with children and managing a children's charity providing outdoor play for children. Since joining Cornwall College, she has been a mentor for trainee teachers sharing her passion for education and has worked hard foraging links with employers to provide our learners with quality placements to increase their employability and vocational skills.
