This level 2 diploma is ideal for those wanting to increase their skills within the care field and gain a qualification that recognises this.
You are working in health or social care settings e.g. Care Assistants, Healthcare Assistants, Support Workers, Care workers.
A suitable job role or placement within a health or health and social care setting.
You will need to attend an interview prior to acceptance on this course.
The Diploma consists of separate units that have been allocated various credit values. To gain the diploma you will need to achieve a total of 46 credits.
You will complete nine mandatory units that include:
- Health and Safety
- Duty of Care
- Record keeping
- Equality and inclusion
- Person centred care
You will then have the choice of several optional units to meet your role. There are different routes that you will be able to select. These include:
- A generic pathway
- A dementia pathway
- A learning disabilities pathway
Knowledge sessions will be provided at college for you to attend.
Competence will be assessed in the workplace.
This qualification is the replacement for the NVQ in Health and Social Care and is the required qualification for working in this field.
You could progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
