This training course is intended for those involved in tree climbing operations and leads to the NPTC Certificate of Competence to Climb Trees and Perform Aerial rescue. It does not involve use of a chainsaw, but covers the minimum requirement for a ground person working with a climber in arboriculture.
As aerial rescue is obligatory, those attending should have a ‘head for heights’.
Training takes place over the first 5 days with assessment on Day 6.
On this course you will identify functions and fitting of specialist equipment, use and tying of specialist knots, pre-climbing equipment checks; identification of hazards such as overhead cables, role of the climber and of the ground person, secure working position, climbing techniques, branch walking, use of supplementary anchor points, storage of equipment and regulations (LOLER, PUWER).
This course runs every month, please contact us for further details on dates and times.
