This course will cover a variety of areas relating to dyslexia – including the misconceptions of dyslexia, defining dyslexia and the challenges faced by a dyslexic learner. Also, the characteristics of dyslexia and the effect of dyslexia on learning to read and write. You will be given advice on what to do if you suspect you, or someone else, has dyslexia – who you can contact, screening tests and diagnostic assessments. Ideas to support a person with dyslexia focusing on activities and strategies that may help them will also be covered.
