Parents in North & East Cornwall and Devon have welcomed the arrival of an award winning kids activity camp during the February half term holiday.

Go Active has been operating in numerous schools and communities, offering a wide range of activities to young people aged five to 14, and will be has brought its camp to Duchy College Stoke Climsland.

The ethos is very simple, according to Ed Timmons, area manager, Go Active Cornwall, “offer lots of really cool and fun sports at an affordable price for parents”.

“We’re very happy to be on-site at Duchy College Stoke Climsland delivering our sports programme,” he said.

“The facilities here are second to none, the campus is close to five large towns, we’re already very active in some of the local schools and so it makes sense to have that continuation with children who know us in our PE sessions, with some extra curriculum activities during the holidays.

“The sports hall is perfect for our holiday club, very large and well equipped. Here we can offer lots of additional sports that aren’t in our normal programme like badminton, basketball, hockey and a wonderful selection of outside pitches and spaces that make street surfing and baseball possible. The college ticks all the boxes”.

While at the club, children can get involved in what interests them, the professional staff are flexible to the needs of the children and activities are rotated.

Jo Patterson, Parent added, “It’s an amazing opportunity for my sons to experience lots of new activities; the facilities on-site are great, it’s in a very safe and secure environment, the location is perfect and also affordable”.

“My son Ben, who is nine, and Jack, who is seven, have been here for the day with Go Active and they absolutely loved it, so I’ll definitely be booking more sessions for the Easter holidays”.

Ed said the club helps children socially and physically, “making new friends and taking part in some great fit and fun activities”.

“At the beginning of the session we break the club down into two or three smaller aged based groups, giving all children of similar age the opportunity to mix and participate,” he added.
