Students at Cornwall College Saltash have been fully immersed in life at the campus, as the student union holds its annual fresher’s fayre. Groups had the opportunity to take part in various activities including bubble football and laser tag. Several exhibitors were present to speak to students and distribute information including Tempus Leisure, Healthwatch Cornwall, Princes Trust, Addaction/Yzup and Wildfutures.
Chair of the Student Union, Cory McNeil, said: “This year’s SU fresher’s fair at Saltash was an absolute success. The atmosphere was amazing. There was such a friendly buzz around campus with so much to do and eat, including free ice cream and discounted burgers! Not forgetting all of the stalls offering so much variety. It was very humbling to hear such positive feedback from staff, exhibitors and most importantly the students. Fresher’s 2016 will be one to remember!”
NVQ Level 3 Nails Services student, Vanessa Millard, said: “This fresher’s fayre was the best one I have been to. The information and stalls were great, a lot of information, friendly and approachable. The bubble football and laser tag was awesome.”
Student Liaison Officer, Ali Gerry, who organised the event said: “We felt it was important to make the fresher’s fayre fun and exciting for the students and that’s why we tried to have as many active events as possible. I would like to say a massive thank you to all the businesses that had a stall, they provided great information for our students and gave away some brilliant freebies which went down very well. It was a fantastic day that the students really threw themselves into.”
