Students from Cornwall College St Austell are presenting their final end of year performance; The Perfumer’s Punishment at 7pm on Thursday 15th June at the Keay Theatre,
The Perfumer’s Punishment is a moral tale about the life of a little old man whose only wish is to help the villagers around him.
Student Leigh Ann Latham explained what a wonderful chance it has been to be “creative and produce” their own material.
“We’ve been excited to work as an ensemble and develop our storytelling skills,” she continued.
“We’re really proud of our work and the fact that a few short weeks ago we were blindfolded and smelling perfume and that now we have a fully formed and engaging performance.”
Performing Arts lecturer, Karen Burden, said the students have worked very hard and “it’s been exciting to see them work their way through the challenge of bringing alive their ideas”.
“They’ve negotiated with each other with such professionalism in order to produce some excellent work – the piece is fantastic,” she added.
Tickets for the show can be purchased from the Keay Box Office on 01726 226454 (£6/4) or on the door on the night (cash only).
