A Former Beauty student from Cornwall College Camborne is celebrating the successful opening of her brand new, state-of-the-art beauty therapy salon ‘Leoni Aesthetics’ in St Ives.  Angela Leoni who studied Beauty Therapy will now offer a complete range of treatments from Swedish massage, to facials and even tattoo removal.

Angela said: “It’s getting nice and busy, and I’m really enjoying being my own boss. A lot of my clients come to me via social media or word of mouth and keep coming back, so it’s nice to know that clients are enjoying the treatments that I offer.”

Angela spent several years working in bars and restaurants whilst her son and daughter were young, but then fancied a change.  She decided to come back into education and settled on beauty therapy as her chosen career path.

Starting with a Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification, Angela then continued onto the Level 3 and then Level 4 Hair & Beauty Management which is aimed specifically at aspiring salon managers.

Angela added: “My mum has been such a big support, she’s really helped me to juggle childcare, a job and my college work. It’s all worked out and I couldn’t have done it without her. I developed a great network of friends whilst at college and we really supported each other, particularly around exams time. I’ve been very lucky too as my partner is a graphic designer, and he’s helped me to create a website, online beauty product shop, flyers and social media presence to help get the business off the ground.”
