Young aspiring actors have raised money for charity while being put through their paces with practical challenges on their return to college.
The students were tasked with exploring the main values at Cornwall College, and on choosing ‘Caring’, were set the task to raise as much money as they could for charity in a week.
Split into groups, they were asked to pick the charity they would fundraise for, then plan and prepare a strategy.
The Acting students rose to the challenge and embarked on pop-up cake sales, karaoke lunchtimes and another managed to obtain a voucher for an afternoon tea at the Fowey Hall Hotel to raffle off to staff and fellow students.
Karen Burdon, Acting Lecturer who set the challenge to the student’s said that she was really “impressed with the levels of enthusiasm and effort towards the task” and “extremely proud of the care they have taken to ensure they raise a great sum of money for charity”.
In total, they raised over £150 which will be split between two charities; the Invictus Trust and the Marine Conservation Society.
