Students and residents in East Cornwall are all benefiting from the launch of new college restaurant.
Professional Cookery & Hospitality students at Cornwall College Saltash are gaining invaluable experiences of real-world work, while customers are getting sumptuous meals at incredible prices.
The new restaurant has been named after the Cornish word for welcome, ‘Dynnargh’, and is open for the local community to use at lunchtimes and some evenings.
It was previously launched as a pop up restaurant at the end of 2017 before now becoming a permanent fixture.
Level 2 Professional Cookery & Hospitality students will take the roles of producing and serving food and student, Zoe Hallet, from Plymouth, said she is “really excited to have the opportunity”.
“I enjoy meeting and greeting the customers and providing them with an enjoyable dining experience,” she continued.
“I would definitely recommend studying at Cornwall College Saltash, the support from the lecturers is fantastic.”
Team Lead for Hospitality and Professional Cookery at Cornwall College Saltash, Chris Penk, said this new facility is “further enhancing our reputation as being the best Catering College in the South West”.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for our students, a really exciting time for our campus to be growing and it’s taking our students to the next level,” he continued.
“The ambience and comfort that the restaurant offers customers matches the professionalism our students offer.”
Chris also encouraged the local community to start booking now for Christmas parties as bookings are already being made.
