Award-winning Duchy College is seeking horses to live at the College’s rural Stoke Climsland campus to take part in the training of its students.
The equine yard staff are hard at work preparing for the new groups of students and horses, and are looking for a variety of all-rounders or ex-competition horses to join the five-star working livery.
Curriculum Lead for Equine, Carol Knight, said she would also like to thank all our working livery horse owners “for their continued support this year in sending us their horses”.
“The horses and students together progress under the guidance of our experienced equine teaching team and thrive in the environment we create for them,” she continued.
The equine department is looking for horses to join their yard and prices start from only £20 per week.
Equine and Animal Centre Manager, Jo Challacombe, said the horses are managed on a horse need – led basis regarding training, feed, appropriate stabling and management.
“Young or green horses are educated and older horses maintained with all being respected for what they need and can offer,” she added.
All types of horse are considered on application and owners are welcome to hack and compete with their horse while they are in working livery at the College.
Head of campus at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, Jamie Crisp, said the working livery horses are a fantastic resource for the students, “giving them the opportunity to learn a great deal from looking after the horses in such a great environment”.
“If you would like your horse to benefit from the individual management available and facilities at Duchy College, which includes a solarium, horse-walker, three riding surfaces (two indoors) and first class care, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
