Students get busy as the new term gets underway at Falmouth Marine School, part of The Cornwall College Group. Groups studying towards qualifications in marine engineering, marine biology, water sports and boat building have started this week on their induction, before the hard work really gets underway.
Head of Falmouth Marine School, Justin Olosunde, said: “It’s great to see so many smiling faces on campus and I am delighted to welcome this year’s cohort and returning students to Falmouth Marine School. Over the next few weeks students will be getting to know their surroundings, enjoying an action packed induction programme, with events that include boat trips and beach games.”
The campus on Killigrew Street, which was redeveloped last year, hosts a state of the art marine engineering centre, high quality teaching space and a selection of wet laboratories.
Justin continues: “Our focus is on creating a realistic working environment, which enables students to develop and flourish, not only academically, but by gaining real employability skills. We are looking forward to a great academic year and we are now planning for the arrival of the students looking to study on our higher education courses.
