Did you have a hero teacher at school that you will always remember, or do you remember the homework –giving, fun-ruining teacher that always seemed to catch you passing notes? However you look back on your time at school there is one thing we can agree on teachers make a huge impact on children’s lives. Although teaching is not a job well-suited to everyone, the people that do become teachers will be remembered, for better or for worse, so here are our top 3 reasons on why teaching is the best job in the world!
You make a difference
When you talk to teachers about the reason they chose the job they’ll will always mention the ability to make a difference in the lives of young people. If you are friends with teachers they will always bring home stories of the student who they have seen visible changes in, where they have seen the realisation on the students face as suddenly the subject “clicks”. As a teacher you will meet students from all walks of like and impart the lessons that shape the next generation.
Teaching is fun
No day as a teacher is ever the same so if the thought of a job where you do the same thing day in and day out makes you want to run for the hills teaching may be the perfect job. As a teacher you will work your way through different subjects and have a new class or activity every couple of hours. To engage a class you need to be creative and come up with fun ways to teach your subject, so enjoy the excitement, laughter and at the end of the day the mess…
A great perk of working as a teacher is the holidays! Whilst everyone toils away in hot offices for the summer you can be on the beach and enjoying yourself, what’s more you also get half terms, Easter and Christmas breaks!
