Support for You

We have a Student Experience Team available on campus, and remotely, if you have any concerns or support needs that your Programme Manager can’t help with.  This could be academic support, support for your health and welfare or any other personal support.  The team can support all students including FE, HE, apprentice and adults.

Engagement and Progression Officers (EPOs) are available on your campus and in your student social space to support you with anything from personal issues, support for your next steps, financial support or support for your health and welfare. They can arrange or signpost you to other support available in college or enable access to outside agencies such as counselling services.  They will also arrange visiting speakers and agencies to support positive health and well-being and organise enrichment and personal development activities on campus.

Study Support Officers and Learning Centre staff can support you with using resources, IT software and to develop your academic skills to be successful.

You also have access to a social space on campus and will belong to the Cornwall College Student Union, CCSU, for lots of fun activities and for you to have a say in college life!

Student Experience Managers ensure that you can get the support you need on campus.  All of the student experience team will work closely with your teachers to help you achieve your goals.

We have lots of other support available too including preparing you for the workplace and special educational needs and disability provision.  Click here to find out more about this support. https://www.cornwall.ac.uk/supporting-your-learning/  Our HE students with complex support queries can also talk to our Disability Adviser – disabilityadviser@cornwall.ac.uk

Careers Information, Advice & Guidance

The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) aims to provide a comprehensive careers service with tailored interactions enabling students to engage proactively in decisions about their future career journey.  We have a pro-active team of Careers Officers, Industrial Placement & Work Experience Co-ordinators and Engagement and Progression Officers who will work alongside course teachers to support students to make well informed decisions about training, education, work options alongside an understanding of their own potential which will develop their employability and long term contribution to both the local and national labour markets.  This free and confidential service is for potential, current and past students and is available all year round at all.

Your course will also arrange for activities to promote careers in your chosen subject including visits to work places and visiting employers.

Safeguarding

Making sure that you are safe and enjoying your life at college is really important to us – so it’s at the centre of all our planning. Everyone here at college has an important role to play in safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and preventing abuse. All our staff complete compulsory safeguarding training and we have Safeguarding Officers for each of our campuses and off site provision. We work with our Safeguarding Children Partnership and the Safeguarding Adults Board to create a strong Safeguarding Policy.
